Goals for 2023

It’s that time of year again to bid farewell to the current year and welcome the new. New Year’s is a new start, full of opportunities to improve different aspects of your life. Of course, it’s important to look back and appreciate the things accomplished and mark the goals set for the upcoming year. Here are some of my goals for 2023 and some things in 2022 that make me proud.

Last Year Accomplishments

LLC

Create Voice LLC was officially registered in the late summer of 2022! I’ve been building up the Create Voice platform for a couple of years now, intending to build the tools needed to help local business owners with their websites. These tools have already been added to the websites that I support and work well to help achieve different goals. I’m proud of the services I provide, and now in 2023, I can offer them more professionally!

Networking

Also, in 2022 I broke out of my shell and began networking with local freelance developers. It may not seem like a big deal but putting myself out there and meeting new people is far outside my comfort zone. Because of this accomplishment, I’ve been able to get a few tips that help me out professionally and open up a few more lanes of opportunity to accomplish bigger goals. Networking is a big part of running a successful business. I’ll need to do more, but luckily, I’ve built up good momentum going into 2023!

Supported Sites

I’ve been lucky enough to get the opportunity to support websites for some great entrepreneurs and organizers that I know. I put pressure on myself to make the most of the opportunity given. I want to build something that accurately reflects my admiration for the vision and passion each person I work with has. It’s tough to accomplish this, and there’s never enough time. With that just being a fact of life, it’s easy to focus more on what I can’t do instead of what I can or have.
Taking a step back to look at what has been accomplished and reflecting on the past year, I can see some things to be proud of. For one, everything is working! That seems like a small brag, and sure it is, but development is hard. Shout out to all the developers that can celebrate that everything is working! People are using the tools I developed for them! The tools I’ve built are reliable and utilized to help the businesses I work with sell products, send messages to their clients, and organize meetings. That’s amazing to me. I can’t wait to do even more of this in 2023.

Trip to Disney World

A more personal accomplishment this year was taking my whole family to the happiest place in the world. We all headed to Florida to party with Minnie and Mickey for my daughter’s golden birthday. I've never been to Disney World before. Being able to bring my whole family to celebrate and have fun was a great accomplishment.

2023 Goals

More Networking

In 2022 I got over my fears and started networking with other local freelance developers. This year I'll have to make more effort to network with local business owners and entrepreneurs. I've found a couple of networking events for small business owners in Minnesota. I plan to attend now that I'm a small business owner too. I will attend a few of these throughout the year and try to develop some new friendships along the way. I'll keep my blog updated with reports of successes and failures as I pursue this goal.

Launch new site ilearnlots.com

I’m also working on a new site called ilearnlots.com. On ilearnlots.com, I can share some of the technical skills I picked up over the years. This site is currently a work in progress and has a ways to go before completed, but I'm excited about the work ahead. After more work on this site is complete, hopefully, I'll have something to share with other developers that they find helpful.

More Online Content

Content is king in this day and age. I have to create more online content to promote my business while educating entrepreneurs interested in having a website for their businesses. The challenge is sitting down and doing the work. In 2022 I read a couple of great books on online marketing, Epic Content Marketing by Joe Pulizzi and Jab, Jab, Jab Right Hook by Gary Vaynerchuk. I pulled a lot of information from both books. I recommend both books for any business owner.
Reading books and articles is half the battle, but now to apply the information. In 2023 I’m setting the goal to start my blog on Createvoice.com and publish at least seven articles. I hope you can read some of them and maybe take away some great value too.
